I have to admit that I started taking notice of Pink because of my grandaughter....but she grows on you. Her tunes are catchy and "real". I love her voice and her performances. What caught me by surprise is that my "old" man likes her too. He never asks me to turn it off and one day I put the dvd on and walked out of the room and when I came back in was surprised because he was sitting there watching it....You know she is really good he tells me. I am sure that appealing to Papas isn't her target audience but just shows you how good she is....thanks Pink!
Although Ive seen Pink on the Ellen Degeneres show, I was not really a fan..had none of her CDs and considered her a performer for the younger crowd only. I was completely entranced by her performance at the Grammys this year and sought out the song she sang while doing her acrobatics. It was hauntingly beautiful. I purchased this CD for that song and the CD has become my favorite go to disc in my car. The uptempo pieces are as enjoyable as the ballads. I understand that this CD came from her heartbreak and it is truly an emotional collection. This woman has a fabulous voice. I am a new "fan."
I love Pink and her brand of music. Probably would have just paid per download of the songs that I knew I liked but I thought the whole album would be better. A little disappointed in some of the slow songs. I don't always associate Pink with slow ballads. But still worth having for the songs that I do like.
I like Pink but I find I can't listen to a whole CD of hers. Something about the tone of her voice. I went to FYE music store this weekend to get recommendations for CD's from others and oddly enough the clerks in the store said the same thing. I bought the CD. It's good if you put it in shuffle with other artists and don't listen to the whole CD at once.
I love Pink. I do. I can't get her every other album out of my CD player. But it's every other album. I don't listen to Pink to be depressed. I listen to her to relate - because she does that so well in her music - and put a dance spin on whatever I might be feeling. She can make me feel good about a breakup, and that rocks! Literally! This is not that album. This album, almost in its entirety, is not only a downer lyrically but an odd mid-beat that isn't really danceable. So What and Bad Influence are the exceptions, but at this writing Bad Influence isn't even released. My overall opinion is this: I bought the CD and sold it the next day. Ick. But I CANT WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE!!!!
